The working group on inter-parliamentary relations between Azerbaijan and Slovenia has paid a visit to Slovenia.
Mr. Agalar Valiyev, Head of the Working Group on Azerbaijan-Slovenia Inter-parliamentary Relations at the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Mr. Heydar Asadov, member of the Working Group paid a visit to Slovenia on February 10-11, 2026, upon the invitation of Mr. Bojan Čebela, Chair of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Azerbaijan at the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia.
Within the framework of the visit, the parliamentary delegation of Azerbaijan held meetings with Ms. Urška Klakočar Zupančič, president of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia, Ms. Tanja Fajon Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, Mr. B.Čebela, Chair of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Azerbaijan at the National Assembly and members of the Friendship Group, Mr. Tomaj Lah, Chair of the Committee on Infrastructure, Environment and Spatial Planning, Mr. Dušan Stojanović, Deputy Chair of the Committee on Foreign Policy.
Referring to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries to be celebrated on 20 February 2026, the sides expressed satisfaction with the current level of friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Slovenia, the inter-parliamentary relations and the existing political dialogue. Discussions were held on further strengthening of the inter-parliamentary cooperation, as well as expanding cooperation between the two countries in various areas of mutual interest.
