1) Foreign official documents must be submitted to the embassy in their original form and after being approved by the relevant office of the Republic of Austria for authentication.
2) Approval can be made by the following relevant departments:
The president of the provincial or district court is responsible for the approval of the certificates issued by the court and notarial procedure;
For the approval of certificates issued by administrative departments (for example, documents related to acts of civil status (birth, death, marriage certificates, etc.), registration documents, etc.) respectively, administrative district offices, district governments, provincial ministries of internal affairs, internal affairs departments, senate, surveillance and administrative service departments and the department for foreign citizens are the responsible bodies;
The chamber of industry and commerce, as well as the chamber of artisans, is the authority responsible for the approval of trade-related documents;
The General Federal Prosecutor's Office and the Federal Central Registry are responsible for the approval of the document of non-criminal liability;
Foreign official documents will not be accepted only if they are certified by a notary;
When power of attorney issued by natural persons is submitted to the Embassy in person, no additional confirmation is required. If the power of attorney is sent to the Embassy by mail, the signature of the person issuing the power of attorney must be notarized.
3) In addition, the following must be submitted to the Embassy:
Receipt confirming the payment of a fee of €25 per document. When presenting the receipt, the above-mentioned fee must already be in the embassy's account (Bank: "Bank Austria", SWIFT: BKAUATWW, IBAN: AT39 1100 0017 5329 7901) Cash payment and bank checks are not possible at the embassy;
Copy of certified documents.
4) You can pick up the approved documents in person during the reception hours of the consular department. If you would like the documents to be returned to you by post, please include a self-addressed and stamped envelope with the appropriate amount.
