TRAVEL WARNING: COVID19
Following the WHO designation of COVID-19 as the Pandemic and the respective measures taken by Azerbaijani and Austrian authorities, the Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan will operate on a limited basis until further notice. Please note that in this period all visitors must schedule prior appointment before visiting the Consular Section. Please do not visit the Embassy without prior appointment! On a case-by-case basis, in case of emergency visitors may be accepted.
According to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan from March 12, 2020, the issuance of visas upon arrival at the international airports of the Republic of Azerbaijan and electronic visas via “ASAN Visa” system are suspended for a period of 45 days in order to prevent spread of the virus.
Foreign citizens traveling to the Republic of Azerbaijan may be required to submit a medical certificate with negative results for COVID-19 testing. In absence of the certificate, foreign citizens may be denied entry and/or quarantined for 14 days or more.
Citizens of countries with a high prevalence of COVID-19 virus (according to the updated list of the World Health Organization-WHO) and citizens of third countries who have been in these countries in the past 14 days will be required to submit a medical certificate with negative results for COVID-19 testing at the time of their visa application and visa issuance.
Given that, the incubation period for coronavirus infection is 14 days, in accordance with paragraph 37.6 of the Migration Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan visa applications will be considered within 15 days.
Please also note the that citizens of Azerbaijan returning from international travel may be required to undergo quarantine of 14 days or more.
Citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan living in Austria, Slovenia and Slovakia are encouraged to register at the Consular Section of the Embassy. This will facilitate effective provision of consular services, including in urgent cases and provide access to important information.

Most recently, the Republic of Azerbaijan has suspended air travel with Turkey, Georgia and a number of other countries (complete list of destinations can be accessed at <https://cabmin.gov.az/az/article/728/>). The passenger ground transportation has also been suspended with Georgia and Turkey.
